Iymanyi International
Art & Math Academy
Iymanyi Art and Math Academy combines art and math
People with disabilities lack math skills needed for entrepreneurship, facing economic barriers. Secondary research shows 90% of disabled individuals struggle with math, impacting their ability to enter core sectors. Accessible math education for disabled children is crucial for reducing economic inequality later in life.
What is our offer to our target audience (the people we are serving)?
We offer students a unique fusion of art and mathematics education, nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Our innovative curriculum, mentorship, and access to global experts empower students to excel and flourish. By melding art and maths, we prepare a new generation for success in a dynamic world, inspiring them to appreciate the beauty in both fields.
Who is Iymanyi?
Iymanyi Belachew has lived and worked as a Mathematics and Art educator in the US for more than 13 years during which she acquired many profound skills in art working under the auspices of renowned artists.
She now teaches and mentors a group of 40 + children at a school for learners with special educational needs situated in Montana, Cape Town in South Africa.
It was founded in 1981 as a public school and now offers space for around 180 students with different disabilities, around 25 of those students stay at the hostel after school hours.
The Iymanyi International Art and Math Academy in partnership with various stakeholders both locally and internationally; is being launched and upscaled on site as a pilot project for the business as a part of the Roxbourg Humanitarian MBA and DBA programs via the Roxbourg Institute for Social Entrepreneurship based in Switzerland.
